This weekend, my one new thing was easy: Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival.

Again, a little embarrassing, but I’d never been.

This free concert is always held at the peak of Indian Summer in Golden Gate Park.

It was pretty magical. After trekking to the Park Presidio entrance of Golden Gate Park, you kind of just wander through the trees until you find the stages. No checkpoints, no tickets … just stages littered across grassy hills, organic food booths lining the street, and people of all shapes, styles, and ages lying on blankets in the sun.

One of my dearest friends from Portland was visiting, so we bought Bun Mee sandwiches and a bottle of white wine, and roasted in our jeans and boots (hey, I thought it was going to be foggy) while we listened to everyone from Kris Kristofferson to Reckless Kelly.

{One of those afternoons where I can’t stop thinking, I love this city}
