174.
Hi lovelies.
I’m currently on my way back from Portland (it was such a wonderful weekend… pics/recap to come in my next post), so I thought I’d finally do a quick update, and a little list of five things that I really love right now:
1. Blue Bottle coffee + Bodum French press
I’m slightly depressed about this one, because I’ve been really good for the past year and a half, and have only been drinking green tea (or black tea when I’m dying). But since the start of a new job (and waking up at 5:15/getting home at 8:15 Monday-Friday), trying to live without a little caffeine in my life really isn’t an option.
Plus, I’ve really started to enjoy the ritual of coffee. If you haven’t had Blue Bottle coffee before, it’s one of those things you have to cross off your bucket list. It’s a San Francisco specialty—and absolutely delicious. The scent of this stuff brewing in my French press each morning is allllll I need to get up and out the door!
2. Kombucha
I’ve been a big kombucha person for a while, but it’s kind of an expensive habit, so I was cutting back for a while. Lately though, this is the perfect mid-afternoon pick-me-up. It’s an acquired taste, but I find the Gingerberry and Trilogy flavors incredibly refreshing.
Mine’s a different print than this (I opted for a watercolor floral pattern), but it’s really the material of this scarf that I’m obsessed with. It’s wool, but woven in a ridiculously light blend. The result is a soft and light scarf that’s very warm, and can add the perfect touch to a casual or dressy outfit. It’s a must-have on these foggy San Francisco mornings.
4. Heavenly salad from Loving Hut
A co-worker recently introduced me to this salad, and I’m completely obsessed. I see this little vegan restaurant all over the city, but had never stepped inside one until I started working in Palo Alto.
Seriously. I’ve been missing out big time. This salad is lunchtime perfection. Crunch cabbage, marinated tofu, crispy wontons, onions, scallions, and a light and sweet rice vinegarette. YUM.
I was lucky enough to be given one of these amazing bags from Derek of Lo & Sons. This thing is a life-saver. It’s a darling bag on its own—gold hardware, lavender lining, black leather handles—and a great work bag. But I just brought this thing on a trip to Portland, and finally used it to its full potential. AMAZING. It’s unbelievable what you can fit in this thing. There’s a pocket for everything (which is great if you’re like me, and you can never seem to find what you’re looking for in your purse when you need it), and I was able to fit a laptop, makeup bag, two books, chargers, headphones, a scarf, and a sweater in—with room to spare. If you’re looking for a travel bag, do yourself a favor and invest in this one.
That’s all for now friends. Have a wonderful week!
